1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website, placing an order, or using any of our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

These terms apply to all visitors, customers, and others who access or use our services.

2. Our Services

DesignAxis provides the following services:

• 3D Printing — FDM printing of customer-supplied or DesignAxis-designed parts in PLA+, PETG, ABS, and other materials
• CAD Design — Custom 3D modelling and technical design for manufacturing
• 3D Scanning & Reverse Engineering — Digital recreation of physical components
• Online Shop — Sale of standard and custom-manufactured products

3. Quotes and Pricing

• All quotes are valid for 14 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated
• Prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable
• DesignAxis reserves the right to revise pricing at any time; however, accepted quotes will be honoured at the agreed price
• Custom orders require written acceptance of the quote before production commences
• Additional costs arising from design changes or material unavailability will be communicated before work proceeds

4. Orders and Payment

4.1 Placing an Order

Orders may be placed via our online shop or by requesting a quote through our website, email, or WhatsApp. An order is confirmed only once payment has been received or an EFT payment reference has been provided.

4.2 Payment Methods

• PayFast — online card and instant EFT payments via our secure checkout
• EFT — direct electronic transfer to the DesignAxis business bank account (banking details provided on invoice)
• Cash on Delivery (COD) — available for collection orders; cash must be exact

Additional payment methods may be introduced in the future and will be updated on our website.

4.3 EFT Payments

EFT payments must reflect within 48 hours of order placement. Orders where payment has not reflected within this period may be cancelled. Please use your order number as the payment reference.

5. Production and Turnaround

• Standard turnaround for prototype and small orders is 24–72 hours from confirmed payment, subject to complexity and current production load
• Larger or more complex orders will be given an estimated completion time at the time of quoting
• DesignAxis will notify the customer of any delays as soon as they are identified
• Turnaround times are estimates and do not constitute guaranteed delivery dates

6. Customer-Supplied Files

• You are responsible for the accuracy and printability of any design files you submit
• DesignAxis will conduct a basic pre-print file check and notify you of any obvious issues; however, we are not liable for errors in customer-supplied files
• By submitting a file, you warrant that you own the intellectual property rights to the design or have permission to reproduce it
• DesignAxis will not knowingly produce parts that infringe on third-party intellectual property rights
• Customer-supplied files are treated as confidential and will not be shared with third parties

7. Delivery and Shipping

7.1 Delivery Options

• Pudo — locker-to-locker and door-to-locker delivery nationwide
• Collection — available from our Johannesburg premises by appointment
• Courier services — additional courier options will be available as we integrate with 2Ship

7.2 Delivery Risk

Risk in goods passes to the customer upon handover to the courier or collection by the customer. DesignAxis is not liable for damage, loss, or delay caused by courier partners once the order has been dispatched. We recommend customers select tracked delivery options and raise any courier-related claims directly with the courier provider.

7.3 Delivery Timelines

Delivery timelines are estimated and subject to courier capacity and geographic location. DesignAxis does not guarantee specific delivery dates once an order has been dispatched.

8. Returns, Refunds and Cancellations

8.1 Custom and Made-to-Order Products

In accordance with Section 20(6) of the Consumer Protection Act, the right of return does not apply to goods that are manufactured to your specific specifications or clearly personalised. Custom 3D-printed parts are therefore non-refundable and non-returnable unless they are defective.

8.2 Defective Goods

If your order arrives defective or does not conform to the agreed specifications, you must notify us within 7 days of receipt by emailing support@designaxis.co.za with photographs and a description of the defect. We will assess the claim and, at our discretion, offer a reprint, repair, or refund in line with the CPA.

8.3 Cancellations

• Orders may be cancelled before production has commenced for a full refund
• Once production has started, cancellations will be subject to a charge for work completed to date
• DesignAxis reserves the right to cancel an order if payment is not received within the stipulated period, if a submitted file is unprintable, or if the order violates these terms

8.4 Shop Products (Non-Custom)

For standard (non-custom) shop products, you may return goods within 10 business days of receipt in their original, unused condition, in accordance with Section 20 of the CPA. Return shipping costs are for the customer's account unless the item is defective.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the DesignAxis website — including text, images, logos, and design files created by DesignAxis — is the intellectual property of DesignAxis and may not be reproduced without written permission. CAD files and designs created by DesignAxis for a customer remain the property of DesignAxis until full payment has been received, at which point ownership transfers to the customer unless otherwise agreed in writing.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, DesignAxis shall not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our products or services
• Losses arising from delays caused by courier partners, load-shedding, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control
• Losses arising from errors in customer-supplied design files

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer for the specific order giving rise to the claim.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts. We encourage customers to first attempt resolution through our support channel before pursuing formal legal action.

12. Changes to These Terms

DesignAxis reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to our website. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
